Two Biggest Misconceptions of Renters :

1) "My personal contents are insured by my landlord's policy."

Not true; a landlord's rental property insurance does NOT cover tenants personal contents.

2) "I don't own my own house, so I don't need personal liability protection."

Again, not true. You are responsible for your own actions and the actions of your spouse and children, regardless if you own the property in which you reside.

Examples of Renter Liability :

• If a tenant's negligence results in a fire, the tenant can be held liable.
